Guys, i have been trying to find some information on this but i can't seem to find any thing relevant.
I have been in the US since 2001. I came in on a F1 and then moved to a H1 and then my employer filed for my greencard and i now have an EAD and AP that is employment based. My last entry into the US was based on my AP.
I recently got married and my wife is a US citizen. I was wondering if it makes sense to apply for a family based AOS concurrently since the employment based AOS takes a long time to be processed. If this possible? and if so how do i go about doing this?
My apologies if this topic has already been covered, i tried searching the forums but could not find any similar topics.
Appreciate the help.

They should
1. not be based on client location (only visit and communicate), must work from sponser's worksite.
2. not be managed by client. Must be managed by sponser.
http://www.uscis.gov/files/pressrelease/LVisa_12_9_2004.pdf
The L-1 Reform Act amends previous legislation by addressing the issue of “outsourcing.” L-1B temporary workers can no longer work primarily at a worksite other than their petitioning employer if the work will be controlled and supervised by a different employer or if the offsite arrangement is essentially to provide labor for hire, rather than service related to the specialized knowledge of the petitioning employer. This limitation will apply to all L-1B petitions filed with USCIS on or after June 6, 2005. This includes extensions and amendments involving individuals currently in L-1 status.
Of course, person on L1 status can work at client site as long as he/she is directly managed by company that has sponsored L1 visa. They can not be directly managed by client. That is the restriction. Have you even read posts in this thread?

I think the company should be filing the fees but lawyers fee for filing is not their liability. Hi Folks,
In many of the articles and forums I have read that applicants spent a lot of money on medical exams, lawyer fees, and so on towards the Employee based Green Card application.
Is it legal for one to spend money (out of one's own pocket) towards getting employee based green card ?
From what I had hear from my company's legal department was that they cannot take any money from me towards the green card application as it is not legal. Employee Based Green Card is for Employer's benefit and not employee's....though it eventually helps the employee -:)
Any comments ?

I was wondering if there are any plans for a recapture campaign ? my feeling is that we should concentrate on recapture at all times ..even if it is something in preparation i.e. do some homework now itself in anticipation ..the other point is keep talking about IV and get new members ..in the last 2 days ..I came across 2 people in various stages of immigration and they did not know about IV ..and they have joined now. I guess this is the most effective way to increase membership
well - we need money for lobbying and our funding drives are not going well. As nothing has happened on the legislative front, our members are not happy. But we must not give up.
WSe will do what we can. Please help reenergizing our base. It is very essential that we see a new generation of dedicated IV members.

mr whydidntufileurgc,
U completely understood me, my point was Vonage may start charging such as 1c per min after few months once they have got most of the new customers.
I am not talking abt 5000 min fineprint here.
yes I do have a job :)
Are you realistically gonna talk more than 3hrs on phone everyday sitting at home? Do you have a job?

Vonage unlimited call to India for $18 per month.
Vonage Free Calls to India - $18 Per Month Only | Go RTP (http://www.gortp.com/vonage-free-calls-to-india/)
Just by using the referral and discounts.
I have been using vonage for last 5 years, sometimes when network connection is bad in India, voice will not be clear ( vonage to vonage).
dialing India number from landline phone ( speed dial) has different feeling than going through Reliance or Airtel.

My priority date is current now and my company has already filed for my I-140. I have have two questions:
1) My wife converted from H4 to H1b last year end and she has not gone out of the country to get any H1b stamp. Will this complicate things? Does she need to go out to get a valid H1b stamp? In case of any trouble, will it be easy for us it she converts back to H4 again?
2) I saw that I485 processing times are taking about 6 months at the CA service center. Hence, under the current conditions, what is a better choice go: for Consular processing or Adjustment of Status? Thanks.

It is not good disparaging the countries needing TV by calling them idiotic and asking for boycott etc. Please know that you are living in a country (USA) which is far worse than those "idiotic" countries in this respect since 2003. US needs C1 visa for transiting through its airports even when you have a valid VISA stamp in your passport to a destination country and you need to fill eqaully gruelling application (DS 156). Also you need to carry documents for travel purposes and financial support.
Which form is more gruelling, you folks decide. Here are the 111 questions you need to answers to get a Transit Visa. I centainly find some of the question totally nosy and irrelevant esp. for a DTV. The last question is interesting. I was so so tempted to write FU for an answer.
