There are 37275 applications with PD of 2004 or earlier. Can we make an assumption that about 20 to 30% of these would try to port once economy turns around in the next 18 to 24 months? How will this impact wait time for a EB2 with PD Jan 2006?
I am really disappointed in the info provided via the foia effort. It told me that there are only 4118 applications before me. 4118 vs 28074. Worst kind of sick joke.
Based on the PD on my 140 Approval Notice (May-2004) there are 28074 applications before me. This is the correct date.

I have flown on Continental from Newark to Mumbai non-stop. The best international flight experience so far! I bought the ticket online at their website. Guess what! It was almost 60% the price of lowest price travel agents were quoting on other airlines!
The flight is a bit long lasting just under 15 hours. But, it leaves at around 8 PM. After an in-flight dinner, it is bedtime. People who have taken overnight bus journeys in India, this is not much different. If you can manage to sleep in that half sitting position (I cannot!) then it is that much better. You wake up, eat breakfast, spend 3-4 hours enjoying their inflight individual entertaintment unit, and soon it is time to land in Mumbai.
There is no hassle with food either. Indian veg is part of their standard offering. So, no hassle of ordering AVML and hoping that they will remember to serve it to you.
The down side:
1) The length - at 15 hours (16.5 hours during return), it can get too much.
2) The service is as bad as any US domestic flight.
3) If you do not live in Mumbai or Delhi, your journey would not end with this flight.
I see that more airlines are moving towards this long haul model with flights lasting over 12 hours. I think it is great, because we avoid all transit hassles, such as security, transit visa, etc., etc.
Soon, AI, Jet and Kingfisher are going to enter into this market. Hopefully more cities in India will connected to more cities in US this way.

EB3 Porting could use up to 8K though, and new filing could be 2K
and EB2 I/C pre-07/2007 still have about 34K at the beginning of oct/2010

If possible ask your company HR reps (and coworkers) to make a call too, it will help. Call by the company will make an additional impact. I have asked mine to call. No harm in shooting off an email.

If the job required a EB2 or EB3 but EB3 was filed earlier. Is that possible?
for the same job position it should not be possible. When the employer filed in EB3, the employer must have provided all documentation necessary to justify the EB3 status. If now, the employer has to go back and indicate that the job requirement matched EB2 status, then that indicates something was not done right during the earlier application. That could right away trigger a RFE.

there are times when your realism makes sense, then there are others when it's plain silly.
this was not a mistake. this was not an accident.
civil servants do not show up on weekends by accidents. and they do not do 6 mnths of work in 15 days by mistake.
it was intentional, directed and planned.
you can believe whatever motives you want and you can sympathize with uscis till kingdom come. but pleaaasee don't tell me it was a random event, some act of god that is our destiny or such crap. please!

I had a pre-scheduled appointment to meet my congressman's rep in his office today. I mentioned to him the issues and gave him the letter. He said addressing the president won't be of much use as it these fixed need to be taken up by lawmakers in the house. He said due to election year nothing will happen until 2009 as it requires legislative fixes and he expressed about the omnibus bill getting declined !

He work at client place and client is administered project.The s/w tool is copyright by client.The reason for asking him to come back is that prior to this company he worked for another company for two years. He left his old company before 5 year. when he joined his current company he has provided all the document mentioned in checklist such as offer letter, exp and releiving letter and last two month pay stub and they did BG for same document.During 5 years career he worked for diff client and everytime they did BG for him before putting him in project and there was no problem happen in his BG. recently his current employer find something wrong about his prior company and they asked him to provide more evidance for prior company.now he don't have any contact of his prior employer and he does not have any more evidnace for showing their company.
Because of this reason they are asking him to come back home country from last two week.He told his company that he tryed to connect his prior employer but he can not make out and he don't have anything more to show the company.
Please suggest what he can do in this situation.
If anyone come across in this situation then please reply to my question.

Well, no - my basic argument is that the banks bloated up the 'real' asset value - I had the money then and I have the money now and I am still paying my monthly mortgage amount - the point is about the inflated housing prices.....with these banks knowing the actual value of the asset and still going ahead with the extravagant loans.
From another point of view, tell me 1 reason why would you lend out money to somebody who you know would not be able to pay you back?

They give you loan based on what you bid your house and it is all their fault. If only banks had refused the loan, you wouldn't have bought the house. Is this your logic? People are posting jokes on IV, but when it is their turn to call, we've to "bump" this thread and send e-mails to members. So pathetic.
I felt very sad when I read 30000+ members donated some 4000 dollars in last two months. I felt my donation of about 1000 dollars since 2006 is being wasted to answer questions of or to solve the problems of these free riders &/or one question members.

Hi Ron,
My Priority date is Jan 2004, EB3-India category and i have an approved I-140 and have applied my 485 during July 07. I have sent my EAD and AP for renewal which expire in last week of September. My spouse is in EB2-India having pd Dec 2005, also applied I-485 (140 is approved) during July 07 and has applied for EAD and AP renewal, which expire in last week of October. We both applied independently and are using our H1bs and not EAds.
Since my spouse's PD is going to be current in August 2008, I was planning on applying for a second 485 as a dependent on my spouse's application.
I know that two 485 applications causes issues. I want your recommendation and also will my application affect my wife's processing time or create issues for her.

You don't need to file a new I-485. Make the CIS aware of your spouse's case and your eligibility under it as a dependent. Ask them to cross reference to the two cases.
