These Numbers are based on the Priority dates of the applicants who filed their Labor.
If you look into the India Category for EB2 and EB3 for July 2007, The Number of Applications filed as per the document are both 1655 and 893 respectively. During July 2007, the dates for EB2-I and EB3-I are current, the USCIS is bombarded with the applications.
I think the Document shows the applicants who started their green card (labor) process.

There are lots of ideas how to resolve the immigration problem. And this problem has many aspects. The retrogression/GC certification mess is just one of those problems and definitely not the biggest one of the bunch.
If we want to help ourselves (i.e. GC applicants stuck in the backlog centers and retrogression trap), we have to have a clear strategy what to pursue and by what means. In opinion, there are two things which would be helpful to our cause in a short run:
1. Representing our case to the American public via the mass media - one of the participants here clearly indicated that proper presentation of our case by 20/20, 60 min etc would be a great help.
2. Launching a class law suit against the American government about return of Social Security funds to legal aliens who do not became permanent residents and leave the country. Regardless of the reason why they have left the country - this is their money !
I am aware there is no enogh time to organize and complete both events before March 27th but it worth try. And it would be good if the idea of a class law suit "slips" away to the mass media and the lawmakers before this date. Money is a very powerful factor.
And, btw, do not close yourselves in a "race-abused" group (Indians-Chinese-Filipinos) and do not draw a line between this "group" and the rest of the immigrants. It is big mistake - I am from a country that is not in this group and I feel that dividing people by their race is wrong. I am sure that many other like me think this way. Do not help the "race" issue grow, try to exstinguish it...

Hi Friends,
I am really sick and tired of my attorney. He is making money out of immigrants but he does not like immigrants based on our dicussion.
I think we are very well educated and can easily take care of 485 filing.
My attorney will charge me at least $3000 for it although I got his referral from AILA. On top of that he delays filing my PERM and 140 and having serious attitude problem.
I can easily take care of 485 filing by myself.
My only and great concern is- Is my attorney can screw up my GC processing if I fire him and file 485 on my own?

Lou Dobbs and CNN runs an hour long "Hate Immigrants" Program every night Monday to Friday. He repeatedly calls US immigration as a failed system, H1-B and L1...as cheap labor and stealing American jobs, he has big problem with China and China's developing economy, He blames foreigners for bad economic condition of California. He proudly uses the word "Illegal Alien". His program "Lou Dobbs Tonight" is nothing less that someone in Iran running a hate show against America. Lou Dobb always called CIR as "So Called Grand Amnesy"! Once this July visa bulletin fiasco settles down, we need to get together and attack this guy, every night so that he can stop his hate propoganda.

"Alaway complain" is the best policy. I got In-state tution for my wife and fought with the university for 4 months. Their rule said - You have to be a resident alien to get in-state. They assumed (because it brought more money) that only Green Card holders are resident aliens. I proved to them with documentation that H-1B and H4 are "non-permanent resident alien" for immigration status and resident alien for IRS tax purposes.
After 4 months university called me saying your wife would get in-state. They never gave it in writing....they still charge out of state to H4 candidates. So that you know, it is 3 times higher than in-state.
Only problem is ---after 7-8 years in this country I am getting tired of fighting these useless battles. I want to put my energy somewhere else, something more creative.
Like someone else suggested, I would never tell that I have EAD. Just say, I am authorized to work for any employer.
After 4 months university called me saying your wife would get in-state. They never gave it in writing....they still charge out of state to H4 candidates. So that you know, it is 3 times higher than in-state.

This is approx data from last year DOS yearly report.
EB1 = 41k
EB2 = 53k
EB3 = 42k
EB4 = 11k
EB5 = 2k
Total was ~ 150 k ( 140k + 10 K from Family Quota's Spill over )
so basically EB1 and EB2 row didn't give any spill over , it was EB5 and family based spill over.
This year we will not get family but instead EB1 will give same share so in the end total spill over for year will not be more than 20-22k.

If there is one thing I learned wrt immigration, it is do things ASAP. Never postpone anything at all. As much as possible get first in the queue.
A general piece of advice: Never reject an option you don't have. [this is more to do with folks who say, "I am only in year 1 in h1..I don't know if I need gc..let me see after 2-3 years.." - guess what einstein, it is easy to give up your gc after you get it, then to get it when you desperately need it.]

I talked to my immigration about this today. My wife is on h4 and her h1-b is not selected in this year lottery process. I wanted her to go a school which issues CPT in less than one year so that she can start work. But my lawyer strongly recommended not to change her status from H4 to F1. My PD is 24 March 2005 EB2. Lawyer told me that it might cause a problem for my wife to get the GC on her I-485 application. Lawyer said some of her clients got through without a problem and some of her clients have problem regarding status change from h4 to f1. Fianlly i decided not to take that risk. I'm still waiting to file I-485.

I have two I-485 pending. Both filed by me.
One is based on National Interest Waiver for physician I-140 (self petition). The second one based on PERM I-140.
Both I-140 are approved. Both I-485 pending one since 11/04 and second 7/07. Fingerprints done for both and medicals done for both.
First I-485 needs total 5 yrs of service in physician shortage area (which will be completed in about 6 weeks)
Does anybody have similar situation. What to expect now. I have PD of 9/04 on both the cases. Dates will become current from August 1st.

Oh's website is like a thanks giving store sale. Stores advertise super duper low prices for stuff and when you get there, they will just say that the item is sold out. Oh also uses the same tactic. He just announces sensational news all the time so people keep visiting his web site and more often than not, he'll just go back and retract the statement. The idea is not to share the news but to keep the traffic coming on his website for spicy breaking news and some might end up becoming his client.
I say the trick works. Even though I know that not everything he says can be trusted, I still visit his website to see if he has any new rumor. Go figure.

Got Greened on the first day of September. It was a pleasant surprise to see an SMS from USCIS on my mobile.
Applied in 2006. So a wait of 4.5 yrs relatively looks short (but was a long one)

Did anyone see any Soft LUDs on their 485 or old EADs before their approvals/RFEs?
My PD is June 7 2006, not current. Yesterday, I had a soft LUD on my 485 and my first EAD. These two haven't seen any activity since early 2009, and I'm wondering if this means anything or if I'm reading into this a little too much.

Pls explain how your stmt can be true. IF a person does not have a transit visa how does one clear immigration...hmmmmm. TV is just another way to make money for transiting thru the country. The sad part is we don't even get to move between terminals to proceed to the next flight. Agreed one has to do some due diligence before traveling but people do make mistakes. No one is arguing abt the TV but for the process and difficulty in obtaining one. Enough said.

The list of nationals that are required to have a visa to transit the UK represents a list of countries where there has been a particular problem with over stayers. It is not race based, but merely an effort to target the problem.
It really does not matter what anyone thinks about the transit visa requirement because it is UK law. Everyone has a choice whether or not to transit the UK. Going back to the original post, to book a ticket without researching visa requirements and then trying to deflect personal responsibility by blaming the visa requirement is ridiculous.
