I know this guy who was a junior to me and reporting to me in India. I resigned and moved with another company and later moved to US. After an year I joined the same company which I was working in India. Now this guy, just because having some relation with the VP made some arrangement and came to US on L1 and applied under EB1 and got his GC in 1.5 years. More over he was no good as manager and a pathetic programmer. Also he did no good to the company actually lost a few clients and when he got his ass on fire he moved to other company and started working as a pathetic programmer with his GC

Some even questioned as to why these people cannot apply under "Multi-national executive" category, as they are "Multi-national" managers.

This is true "reuse"), also "reuse" the portfolio value (how can 3-4 managers from the same client account be responsible for x million dollar business) and crooked company attorneys make up a stellar resume and case to file for them. The attorney pay comes from the employee's pocket.
Otherwise how would you explain the sudden rise in EB1 filings and a quota which never used to be over in previous years suddenly has cut-off dates.
If we keep quiet, these same clowns will use up all the visas and smirk at us for filing in the "lower" categories. What a backdoor to a green card! :mad:

Nothing can be silly when it comes to interpreting USCIS rules and regulations.
Unused numbers should be used before Sep 30th. There is no mechanism for overflow of numbers to next year.

That is the tragedy of India. Except Indians everybody has ruled India and still people have no remorse, no self respect.
India is very difficult to rule. Thats why we outsource that. It is not a joke.
Even after independence, Nehru had very strong majority goverment. Still he had a problems in ruling the country. He had lot of vision in economy, poverty, socialism etc.. But he and subsequent PMs (mostly congress) failed becuse of unimaginable local issues based on India's diversity and polygenious nature of the state. India is a victim of its own diversity and long/old (and strong) regional history. This diversity includes language, tradition, culture, food habit, religion, caste and so on. Therefore, India is victim of its own division and diversity. India is untied or born in 1947 because of British rule. Infact, there is no country called Republic of India before 1947. Indian constitution (or concept of united India) is brand new compare to regional history. Naturally, regional interest always prevails. So ruling India is still a new and uphill task. 60 years is very less to come to conclusion. Thats why, all congress PMs had failed in reforms. And now in the information age, India become materialistic, everybody wants everything. So naturally corruption increases. So one can not blame just congress alone for the mess.

This rumour was in many minds up untill now. Now that we are discussing it openly, we are atleast clear in our minds about this issue.
We atleast are discussing what USCIS could or coundn't do.
Even my attorney has said that they cannot guarantee exact filing date per each case, even though mine was the very first application that went to my attorney's office with all documents ready including medical reports, birth certifictes. Such is the work load in my attorney's office.

Is the new Obama Administration going to consider "Instant GC" if we buy a House ? I'm thinking about the huge inventory of vacant house and how many could be bought up by GC holders... Its probably a fraction - Isn't it ?
At the risk of getting red dots - few critical roadblocks come to mind:
1. The crisis right now is way beyond housing - its about basic issues like employment, consumption and credit (buying vacant houses does not raise employment) - fundamental issues would need to be addressed first before Govt can do something that even remotely looks and smells like (howsoever untrue it might be) giving preference to immigrants over Americans. Also what happens when renters enmasse vacate apartments and buy houses - it drives rental companies into bankruptcy - so catch 22 - no?
2. Credit criteria have been made very stringent by banks and lending institutions - so a lot of people may not qualify.......many people are in risk of losing jobs - they may not want to convert their liquid savings into a 20% illiquid (houses dont sell overnight and you cannot convert your investment to cash easily) downpayment towards houses....so not sure how many will actually want to spend that money now.....what if you get ur GC by buying a house and subsequently lose job and cant find alternative job - house cant feed you and the family nor can it pay mortgages.....
3. Any legislation that goes against principles of natural justice and creates an elite class based on financial criteria is difficult to pass through legislature.....

you sound suspiciously supportive of the caste system. i will say it again. such a system is wrong. i do not care which side of the fence you are on. was depriving blacks from voting wrong? or was it ok from the white side of the fence? please think before you post.
there is a difference between "something benefiting me so i justify it and fight to keep it" and being right or fair. everyone fights to keep what they have. sorry, still not right. and if you still feel the caste system can be justified as right from your (or any) side of the fence then let's stop here, we have no common ground. and i speak as someone with sufficiently "high caste" to have not suffered from it (so you know my side of the fence).
one last thing, i find it hard to believe you are terming as "right" the idea that I as an individual should be held back 10 years longer than my colleague because of where i was born. any way i look at it...sorry...just not right.
