Hi,
Mine was similar experience like yours. I had one question:
Similar to yours, they stamped the validity on my I-94 as well as the AP papers as one year from that date, which is somewhere in March 2009 whereas my AP expires in Spet 2008, so which takes precedence, the I-94 date in 2009 or the AP expiration date?

They just looked at my passport and the two AP copies (nor I have shown them anything more myself) I received from USCIS. They stamped on both and returned me only one copy. I-94 issued for one year from the date of entry.

Don't worry about this bill being rejected. I am pretty sure one way or the other they need to increase the EB visa number soon, else definetely USCIS will be in big trouble with thousands of applications sitting there for them, now having said that USCIS will find a way to get some bill which will have EB visa count increased passed in congress, so untill then cheer up and complete your filing.:) :) :)

yea...this is effective july 2nd...so if you I140 reaches then...you cannot use premium processing

why ? ask your kids to do same and see what you feel on that night. can your kids do same ? forget about torturing or anything for a moment. Didn't you see Nupur Lala a past winner where she is now ? if she was torture for that competition she would n't be in MIT. its a competition of brain power to me.

AC 21 like no changing of the jobs when 485 pending for more than 6 months....
Bad for consulting companies (no H1B; may lose job)
Bad for physicians (no H1B for medical residents; no provisions for NIW...terrible)
Bad for H1b transfers and extensions (severe restrictive provisions on H1B)

Bad for pending I 140 .... left in limbo
Bad for pending LC .... left in complete limbo

This bill is a massive attack on us; we should put all our efforts to oppose and kill the bill. There is little chance that we can get amendments to reverse the potential damage that this bill can do... that is disaster for us.

If not expunged, it will FOR SURE pop up immediately they punch your name in. You certainly can not lie there. You will be deported. If point sysem is introduced the big losers are immigration lawyers as they cannot make money in multiple stages. So no wonder if they oppose. Of course there is some limitations but its sucess depends on rules and regulations. Also there is going to be a Cap and there is going to be a provision to prevent displacement of US workers as the worldwide demand is always here. But main advantage is it will bring down the work load of various agencies like DOL and INS also employers.

your freedom is reduction in their profits. exactly the slave-master thinking. they will try their best to delay your freedom.
at my last employer (a large, respectable financial firm), they kept saying "GC next year" till they said "GC last months of 5th year". I was just a few months from that time, but i quit them in disgust anyway. doing GC with them would have meant another 5-6 years with those creeps.
this is classic zero-sum thinking. you'll see it everywhere in the US. you just have to be sharper at seeing politics. only you can protect your interests.
my advice to IV is to associate with some labour union. those guys are corrupt, but at least they have some power.

A# is assigned during I-140 approval process. Unless you get an approved I-140 from your employer it is difficult to get the A#. BTW, I didnt knew my A# so I just left that field blank and sent I-140 Tracking number instead.

Is there any way to know whether our case is already preadjudicated or not? Is it OK to call USCIS customer service number or taking an infopass appointment for just checking that?
I just want to have some peace of mind as USCIS is not require (hopefully :)) any documents from our side, if they already preadjudicated us.
Please share your experience....

The November Visa Bulletin will almost certainly look exactly like the October Visa Bulletin. The Visa Office has already warned not to expect any movement until the CIS gets around to figuring out how many cases they have and the priority dates of those cases.

I just dont get it. A.R Rehman has been doing amazing work for ages now and it needed a British movie to take him to the world stage. Really, his work in Dil Se...was way better than what he did in Slumdog.
Bollywood sucks and how!!! They need to figure out how they can take their cinema to the world audience. They've been failing miserably in promoting their movies in the west. Americans welcome change and encourage talent always and our bollywood producers/directors need to tap that.

I only see 3 approvals in Oct...
I asked my attorney he said that I need to wait at least 1 more year. The Nov and Dec are gone in holidays. These Gov emp are worst then Indian Gov Emp.

A lot of people seem to be saying this. It seems e-filing AP usually triggers a new FP notice. If this true then it will certainly delay things. We would be better off filing AP by paper.

I filed EAD by paper to TCS and got the "Card Production Ordered" email yesterday (in 14 days) for myself and my wife. My friends who efiled just received finger printing appointment notification and no receipts. Is there same benefit with AP? Please calrify.

my friends licence has been invalid for about 2 months now. now he got the H1 extension approval he is waiting for. can he get his DL extension just by showing the h1 extension. or does he have to give the road test again. He lives in NJ.
