This is what I'm doing. I'm flying to Nebraska service center friday night. Will put my shelter in front on PO box and will remain there until Monday morning. Once the USCIS guy comes up to pick up the mails, I'm just going to hand deliver my paper before he even opens his mail box.

Ultimately everything boils down to corruption. Huge money is going down in the pockets of big media houses, it is so damn obvious...Hindustan times, IBN & NDTV carried pictures of Priyanka Gandhi's children for 3 days on the front page, I never saw pictures or anything on Chandrababu Naidu, Yedirappa, Badal, Gehlot, Shivraj Chauhan or for that reason anybody....these kids are more important than our grassroot leaders ? The family is talking about "Rahul kee Shaadee" and the whole media is printing that, nobody's asking them where were you and what you did in last 5 years ???

Sorry for the clich� "United we stand divided we fall". Let us be careful and have meaningful dialogue especially when we take up contentious issues that might pit one member against another. IV stands for improving EB based immigration for all irrespective of the country of birth. Please note that there are several outside folks vying to split the group and we do not need to do it internally. I feel that this discussion has come up at misopportune time. Just recall the same kind of discussion that came from folks that had missed the July fiasco last year.
Let us not forget our "primary" goals and harp on minor irritants.

I always has that question what is the real difference, hear people sayinig more taxes less salary and all that but don't know the actual difference yet.

Every time I hear "Canadian taxes are so much higher", I respond back with "really ? how much are you paying a month for health insurance?". I suggest a typical breadwinner with spouse + 2 dependents is probably paying $500 / mo + in health insurance premiums. Add that $6K / yr to your US tax bill, then compare it to your Canadian tax bill. ;)

Too many guesses!!! I am a silent watcher here for last 1 or 2 yrs and all your calculations & guesses were proved wrong in the past. Some guys are too positive that they always guess & give some calcuations which seems like you are going to get your GC in 6 months..some are very negative that they always keep crying and always guess & give some calculation which seems like you will only get your GC in 2025. lol to be frank its really funny to see your guesses & calculations. BTW this is not to offend anyone her. Take it easy guys.:D

Jayleno - me thinking sane is the reason you didn't hear from me in any malls/WM :) but I was a minority in BWW who believes in waiting till you find like minded people who are looking. cold contacting is just going against human instincts. you can't simply talk to a person about something to get his phone number and call them about this business next day. that is a reg flag right there. i couldn't do it and hence not with this business anymore. many of us are not ready to think about making millions in few short years. some people need to understand that you can't rub that idea with force on another human being.
in BWW terms, i was a quitter who can't take the business to the next level because I was afraid of rejection (getting a NO from prospects)..

Her Husband is the primary applicant for Green Card and she was working on H1 visa without break. Now she is on EAD and joined a job in EAD got 2 months pay stubs( ie 8 weekly pay stubs). After that got 3 months break. Her status now is on I-485 and no more on H1. Note: Her husband was the primary applicant and she applied I-485 through her husband's GC.
Her husband got the GC card and she is waiting for her's. While her husband received the GC she was working on her EAD.
Now the question is Will the break in her work on EAD be a problem for getting her GC?.

After reading all these comments specially the one from walking_dude, I think its prudent of IV for engaging USCIS in a constructive way....Even though it is very frustrating for us now, it would be a mistake to cut all connections to USCIS by a lawsuit..
Lawsuit should be explored as a last resort for relief and I am for it..
There are a number of things:
1) A lawsuit cannot increase the GC visa numbers. Courts cannot change the law. The only relief we can seek through a lawsuit is to recapture the wasted visa numbers in the previous decade that amount to 218000.
2) No matter how angry and frustrated we are, we should keep our cool heads and contribute as much as we can to the letter campaign. This might achieve some results. If it happens, it will provide big immediate relief and help reduce the backlogs.
3) Lets see what's going on with the "Scaled down CIR type" bill House Dems are talking about, as mentioned my Greg Siskind etc. Hopes for this are low but no harm in hoping.
4) I do see the light at the end of the tunnel. Once the new President steps in(Democratic or Republican), full-blown CIR would be revived. For legal EB immigrants, it would overhaul the whole GC system, making it point based and would most probably include EB visa reacpture and visa increase. This might happen in early 2009.
5) With USCIS hiring 1500 employees and adjucators, processing times might improve.
This is the time even the lawsuit would take to get some relief, if at all.
So, let's be patient and keep the lawsuit option (if it possible) absolutely as a last resort.

My friend, the purpose of green card is to allow you to convert into citizenship sometime down the road. If you are not ready and willing to spend your saved money in the US and better its economy, then how can you expect the US goverment to help you?
If you do not have enough money, then you are not paid the prevailing wage or the wage mentioned on the green card. If you do not have a job, how can your green card process still be there arent you illegal already?
To add to all the above, as nixtor has stated, reduced backlogs help everybody.
This is not fair and good idea. what about people waiting in line for years and invested their money elsewhere because of this green card delays or those who do not have enough money and job in this market situation. All of the sudden you are brining this idea. This is not fair. This is kind of buying green card. There is a investment based green card category available for that. I request you to go through that channel if you are rich. Not all employment based green card seekers are rich. Please keep that in mind.

This is an old artical I was able to dig up. These LTTE members have been living in colombo for 15 years. Its hard for the military to pin point terrorist among so many tamils. That's why they asked them to justify their stay in colombo. Its not a pretty situation, if the military doesn't question then the LTTE would have already taken over the capital.
This is just one incident, so far military have found many times, large number of weapons are explosives from houses in Colombo.
