Ok...the way I see this is 5000min/month at $25 (not adding taxes) is 5 cents a minutes...that is more than what I pay for my calling cards....bottom line....if your monthly calling bill is less than $ 25 there is no reason why you should get Vonage.
I think your calculation is wrong. 5000mins at $25 is less than a cent for min. Also you should include local phone which we pay minimum $17/month (I think teleblend is cheap I found is 15.99 + tax = 17 per month)

Here is a summary of the bills, their bill numbers and the Sections:
Sen. Chuck Hagel's Bill (Section 202 of S. 1918)
-High-tech workers who have worked in the U.S. for 3 years would be allowed to adjust to permanent resident status without regard to the annual employment-based immigrant visa cap of 140,000.
-The spouses and children of immigrant workers would also be allowed to adjust status without regard to this cap.
McCain/Kennedy Bill (Sections 601 and 602 of S. 1033)
-Increases quota on EB immigrants to 290,000 to alleviate retrogression
-Recapture unused visas between 2001 and 2005
-Increase the per country limit from 7% to 10%
Cornyn/Kyle Bill (Sections 1001 and 1002 of S. 1438)
-Recapture of the unused visas between 2001 through 2005
-Removal of diversity visa and reallocation of these. Since this is mentioned under EB, the implication seems to be reallocation to EB but am not sure.
-Increase of the country limit from 7% to 10%
It is understood that there would be a merging of these to make the final comprehensive immigration bill

please advise. Thanks
They will go through TB test, which the doctors office will do. But as far as the testing goes you have the complete list

You or your employer should have a copy of all approved I-797 H1 reciept. Isint the l-94 on there?
Yes. But I travelled to India when I was on one of those I-797s and submitted the I-94 attached at the bottom of that I-797 while travelling out. I had not clue at that time that a copy of this I-94 would be needed.
I have other I-797s with I-94s attached at bottom coz I never travelled while I was on those I-797s.
Anyways, I am not worried. What I dont have, I just dont have it. Cant do anything about it now.

Massive IV campaign for Administrative fixes
Dear Members,
Immigration Voice is starting a massive campaign to get administrative relief for our community. We have had several fruitful meeting with the administration in 2007, some of these meetings were scheduled in September, November and then in December. In these meetings, we were able to convince the administration about the implication and hardship due to current broken system. Since Congress has not been able to address our issues in 2006-07, we were successful in creating a case for administrative fixes that would give much needed interim relief to EB community. These meetings helped us start a conversation on possible administrative fixes like 3 year EAD-AP, clearly defining “same or similar” if AC-21 is invoked, and we are hearing favorable feedback.
Due to lack of action on legislative front our community’s patience is running out and we want some relief urgently to get out of probationary status. We are thus starting this nationwide campaign that will help our advocacy efforts and get administration to act quickly. There are several components to this campaign.
1) Support from lawmaker offices: We urge all our members to meet their lawmaker offices and get them to write to The President in support of administrative fixes and urging for an immediate administrative relief. The template of the letter is attached. Letters from lawmaker offices to administration get far more attention as compared to anybody else writing the same letter. The template of the letter is posted below. Please request lawmakers to give you a copy of the letter or lawmakers could copy IV on their letter to The President. Here is a template to write to your local congressman and senator: http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showpost.php?p=212511&postcount=6 (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showpost.php?p=212511&postcount=6)
2) Support from employers: We urge all members to approach their employer and have them send a letter to The President expressing support for our administrative fixes and appealing for an immediate relief. The template of the letter is attached below. Please request your employer to give you copy of the letter so that you could provide IV with the copy of the letter.
3) Plea from our community: We urge all our members to write personalized letters to The President directly and convey their plight. If you would like to write your own personalized letter, please do so with your own story. Make sure to stick to the administrative fixes we have listed in the letter template and how these fixes could help you and your family. Please put your name and address in your letter. Anonymous letters will not be delivered and will be discarded. We request that you create 2 copies of your letter. One copy should be posted to The President and the second copy should be sent to Immigration Voice mailbox address at –

You can write your own letter or use one of the LETTER TEMPLATES below. Be sure it includes the key points.

The deadline for receiving all the letters is 1st March 2008. Our plan is to collect thousands of letters that we will also receive in IV mailbox and deliver them, along with the letters from employers and lawmakers across the country, during our meeting with the administration. We believe that this will make a necessary impact to strengthen our case and gather the necessary political will required for administrative fixes. We will also try to get media coverage for this campaign and draw national attention.
Please inform all your friends stuck in greencard retrogression and have them participate in this effort. Please post information about this campaign and link to this thread to as many sites, blogs you can so that we can get extraordinary scale of participation. The success of this effort will depend on the collective sincerity of the entire EB community to get letters from lawmakers, employers and members of the community. Immigration voice is counting on each and every member and it is in up to each member to make this campaign a success and help us to improve our and our families’ lives.
Reminder: Pls mail 2 letters
1) (copy 1)please send a separate letter to the President.
2) (copy 2)Send a copy of that letter to IV. After the letters are sent to the President, IV will have a meeting with senior administration officials. In that meeting we will carry the copies of the letters and deliver to them.
============================================
Pls feel free to change the text of the letter and personalize it if you wish. If you wish to include your story and attach a photo copy of your degrees, patents, awards, please do so. Just make sure to include the information on provisions we are trying to push.
If you are handwriting the letter, your writing should be legible. If nobody can read your writing, then it will defeat the purpose. Write the letter in such a way that the key points are easy to read. If you would like to use rules, bold text, highlighters etc... go ahead and do it.
We all need to be as creative as possible to make this campaign a success.
============================================
Everyone that took part in the IV lobby day in September 2007 should get in touch with the lawmaker offices now and request them for letters. If you have met your local lawmaker offices through state chapters or on your own, it is time to visit them again for this request.

Last time I had travelled by British Airways in 2004 and I have made a resoultion for never tavelling with them again. We had a baby 2 years old and he was cranky and my wife asked airhostess to clean the feeder and she refused, saying that 'Mam we don't do this!'. Point is that they don't treat us well even though they get lot of income on routes to India. Also, look at those crappy old planes they deploy on these routes. As someone else said in this thread that it is time for Indian Govt. to wake up and be stiff on such lapses. I am sure they will listen, as they can't afford to lose big bucks coming from India anymore.
You are asking for too much. Any reason why you or your wife could not clean the feeder? They are air-hostesses and not your personal servants.
Jeez what's next? Shine my shoes??

Maybe we can use the H-1 B reform bill, to recapture unused visas during the last many years. Make H-1 B tough but at the same time, release those green card numbers. Carrot and Stick approach.
You are correct.
Reform H1-B
1)Make H1-B independent of employer. THis way all these PIMPS (desi consulting companies) don't exploit us.
2)Make Green card independent of employer. Give green card if your period of employement in US is > some years (UK style)
3)Make H1-B processing times to mere days and make it stricter where in genunire companies apply (not desi dalals or shitholes like infosys, tcs, wipro, satyam)
3)THe above thing is most improtant since it gives H1-B to genuinine companies or not some fake expeirence guy sitting in a famous city in India
4)Please really scrutinise L1s. They are the one who are responsible for lower salaries and taking the jobs away from USA to India.

1. Ball park figure is total of 218,000 visa wasted from previous years. How much of it will go to EBs (and others) will be based on how the recapture gets implemented. If we don't do anything and sit quiet, it may as well be ZERO. Nurses will walk away with the cake
2. President can pass an 'Executive Order' to pass interim relief. So it should be possible. It'll depend on the independent interpretation of the law by the White House, and it won't be based on whatever you read elsewhere.
What is the source for the number 218,000? Is this purely speculation or in some official reports? USCIS Ombudsman report, some official USCIS publication or from any other organization?
Thanks!

My PD is 01/09/2007. Is there any chance to reach my spot in May visa bulletin? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

No. Not in May, but sometimes during 2011 the chances that Jan 2007 will be current is extremely good. Good luck.

thanks, I am going to look into that also.
I am still trying to talk the old employer. Is it such a big deal that they cant even write a letter of future employment for me? i told them that they are not obligated to hire me but they are scared that they are trying to show that they are in losses and that by filing for a GC and promising a future employment they will not be able to show that they are suffering losses.
Why is it so difficult and complicated?
I am losing hope in it.
There is no harm in trying the new application in parallel. Assuming your employer is paying for it/you can afford the extra fees. Time is critical as CIR might mess things up if you delay too much.

I was amazed to hear about the development. Would Mr. Gonzalez will show a curtsey to personally reply to all the people who sent flowers, and apolozise for the pain and emotional trauma his agency has caused to thousands of legal immigrants in this country ?
BTW, couple of years ago one of my American (citizen) friend was dealing with USCIS (at that time INS) to adopt a baby from China. When she got the baby after struggling for 4-5 years and with a push from local congressman, she was agahst with the way USCIS treated her. I still remember her remarks "If they do not understand the pain and suffering of a mother, and they do not care for a suffering orphan child, I highly doubt that they have any more humanity left in them".
The name has changed but the public face of the agency remains the same. Please remember that for them we are not human's, we are just file numbers sitting and rotting at their service center's.
So when USCIS decided to forward the flowers to our soilders (which we think is an excellent idea), its not because the agency has a human touch in it, but its because they found an excellent face saving mask for their unjust action.

Ganguteli, why do you keep on questioning everybody's intentions all the time. the other day, I had posted about L1 exploiting the loop to file GC in EB1 and your answer was plainly stupid and irritating - "I would have done the same thing if I had a chance"....
There is nothing wrong in exposing any kind of visa fraud...I came here on F1 10 years back and still in line for GC after getting masters from a decent school and working with major employers. What is wrong in making sure that it is FIFO....
